A Chup-pa Brown Christmas

We've certainly been getting our fill of classic Christmas specials in the last week and a half. As a kid, I fervently looked forward to both "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and the claymation Rudolph special (the jury's still out as to which one I like better), faithfully watching and enjoying them, and checking that box on the list of Christmas to-dos. It never occurred to me, until now having a child of my own, that I could watch them more than once! Ellie has asked to watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas" every day for the last three, and we've indulged her requests with little hesitation. It's the Christmas season, so why not have our favorite specials on repeat?

After much asking and pointing to the DVD box, we let her watch Charlie Brown after dinner the other night. Ellie's 2-year-old interpretation of how to say Charlie Brown is just hilarious -- "Chup-pa Brown!" Knowing full well this is the only year she'll say it that way I'm lapping it up in every time she says it and probably prompting her to say it more often than I should.

I've replayed this video so many times and the part when she cries, "Chup-pa Brown!" and immediately brightens up with a much happier "Chup-pa Brown" when she sees the menu cracks Brian and I up. As soon as the opening music starts you can see there was no more prompting Ellie as she settles into the Christmas special stupor.
