Now that Ellie is more mobile, Brian and I are attempting to keep one step ahead by baby proofing the house. We removed all questionable items (wine rack, DVD rack) and put up the baby gates. There are corner covers on the TV stand, covers on all exposed electrical outlets and we moved the ottoman against the wall in an attempt to block the cable cord. We have a designated area (a rug covered by a fleece blanket) with lots of colorful age-appropriate toys for Ellie to play with.
Yet she still wants anything off-limits (if you can't tell, that's Ellie enthralled by the lights on the cable modem yesterday).
Yep and won't Christmas be fun with climbing the tree and trying to get the bulbs! Friends of mine had twins and the first year they put the tree in the play pen, the second year the hung it from the ceiling!
