As our my ability to travel a whole lot has dwindled over the last month and a half, we've been trying to get in some weekend day trips to get out of the house and experience what we can. I discovered the concept of barefoot parks a few months back and have been nagging Brian to go, who in actuality was a willing participant. A few weekends ago, we made it happen! The name is pretty self-explanatory: the park consists of a path -- ours was about 2.5 kilometers -- that is traversed with bare feet, through various textures and materials like water, glass, thick mud and even pinecones! There are also balancing bridges and logs. We took a picnic lunch and, though it was a slightly chilly and rained about halfway through our walk, had a great time.
Best quote from our barefoot park experience:
Ellie: "I really like this barefoot pa-- owww!!" (she had stepped on a rock)

Watch out for that glass... ;)
